Financial Technologies and Financial Inclusion in Emerging Economies: Perspectives from Nigeria

This paper examined the interplay between financial technologies and inclusion in emerging economies especially from Nigerian perspective. The study adopted exploratory research design involving extensive review of related published materials including statistics obtained reputable sources such as World Bank, Enhancing Financial Inclusion Surveys Global Findex reports. found that while deployment has aided drive Nigeria, progress is still being hampered by challenges relating to poor system interoperability, socio-cultural induced gender sensitivities, concerns data privacy breaches over serving cities Fintechs detriment priority rural areas. therefore recommended regulatory authorities should provide clear policy frameworks address issues breach encourage a redirection fintech activities areas for greater impact on drive. Also, efforts be made improve interoperability linkages conventional banks players mitigate frequent downtimes service glitches which heightens trust deficiency.
